April 27, 2023 Pile cutter for the realisation of Amsterdam’s Noord/Zuidlijn tunnel

We engineered and manufactured an 8-metre-long pile cutter that weighs 10 tonnes. It was designed to remove 2,000 wooden foundation piles beneath Amsterdam’s Centraal Station.

The device is equipped with two grabs and a large saw that enables it to grab and saw through the piles. The removal of these piles was necessary to make room for the Noord/Zuidlijn tunnel running beneath the central train station.
